MCD participated in the MARE events at Vietnam Maritime University in Hai Phong

20. 02. 2023 MARE

From February 15th to February 17th, 2023, MCD team led by Ms Ho Thi Yen Thu Deputy Director participated in a series of events with MARE partners hosted by the Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) in Hai Phong City, under the framework of the Marine Coastal and Delta Sustainability for Southeast Asia (MARE) Project. Participating in the events included more than 40 representatives from all 13 implementing partners of the project from Europe, Malaysia and Vietnam.

The series of events included a project meeting where MARE members reported on the progress of the project implementation and planned for the next activities, and a stakeholders’ workshop highlighting the Enterprise-Academy connections for Marine Coastal and Delta Sustainability, in which all MARE partners and invited speakers shared their experience and lessons learnt with a range of issues related to marine, coastal and delta sustainability, which also linked with novel and innovative approaches and protocols. In the workshop, MCD delivered a presentation on Promoting the development and implementation of public-private-people partnership (4P) in sustainable development of sea and coastal areas – from MCD perspective.  The workshop brought an open opportunity for all members to create new connections for further operation.

All participants were facilitated to visit the campuses and training facilities of the Vietnam Maritime University including a modern training ship gifted from Korean government.
