Aimed to raise awareness and responsibilities of youth in flood and storm control and prevention and natural disaster reduction, on August 9 in Ha Long, the Centre for Marinelife Conservation and Community Development (MCD) in collaboration with Quang Ninh Communist Youth Union and Ha Long Association for Environmental Education and Protection organized training workshop on Climate change adaptation and Natural disaster prevention.

There were more than 100 participants, including leaders and officers from Quang Ninh Communist Youth Union, representatives of disaster relief volunteer clubs from communities, provinces, and cities. Participants had been introduced to Communist Party’s revolution lines and policy, government’s law on natural disaster prevention and rescue and search work, guidelines to 04 on-site: “On-site direction, on-site force, on-site materials and supplies, on-site logistics” and 03 readies: “proactive prevention, timely rescue, quickly relief”.

There were more than 100 participants, including leaders and officers from Quang Ninh Communist Youth Union, representatives of disaster relief volunteer clubs
from communities, provinces, and cities.

In addition, trainees were provided knowledge about eco-system; effects of environment on climate change; mangrove swamp and its influences on environment change and climate change and orienting the Union’s activities joining in disaster aid work.

The training course is in the activity series aimed at motivating youth at communities to take part in climate change adaptation activities under the framework of the project: “Internship and Village facilitators (IVF) for Climate change community based adaptation program in biosphere reserves of Vietnam” funded by McKnight Foundation.
